Thanks to its location on the east coast, Dublín’s annual rainfall is lower than in other parts of the country but you can expect rain throughout the year, so make sure you pack a waterproof or an umbrella for your visit whatever the season. The city enjoys a temperate maritime climate, with relatively mild winters. Average temperatures range between 2°c and 8°c in January, but snow showers are known to occur between November and March. Summers tend to be warm and humid and the best time to visit the city is between May and August when you are likely to enjoy the best weather as well as the least rain. This is also when the city is at its busiest. The weather can still be highly changeable, but the city has plenty of attractions to offer indoors, including its famous pubs that occasional showers will give you a perfect excuse to go and sample.
